This spring, CIEE will select 75 university students to participate in the University Spring Break Program, running March 13th to the 22nd, 2010. While in South Korea, students will be hosted by Yonsei University located in Seoul, South Korea. Yonsei will organize academic lectures, tours, and cultural excursions throughout the program. The program is intended to be a cultural exchange for students who have had little to no exposure to Korean culture and is aimed at fostering understanding and diplomacy between the U.S. and Korea. The application deadline is February 8, 2010.
Program highlights include
- International airfare to and from South Korea departing from U.S. gateway city
- Pre-departure orientation taking place in the designated U.S. gateway city
- Accommodation and meals at Yonsei University
- A variety of academic lectures exposing students to Korean language, history, and culture
- Program excursions designed to promote exploration of culture and history
- A brief homestay with a Korean family
- International medical insurance coverage and 24-hour worldwide assistance provided through the CIEE iNext travel card
- Chaperones appointed by CIEE and Yonsei University
Program does not include
- Domestic travel to and from U.S. gateway city (departure city to be confirmed)
- University credit
- $150 application processing fee for selected finalists
- Spending money for personal purchases
